LinkedIn Signals
With LinkedIn Signals, you can track and analyze LinkedIn activity alongside your website activity, helping you identify warm leads from your LinkedIn marketing and sales outreach.
LinkedIn Signals capture engagement data from your organic LinkedIn content, paid advertising campaigns, and prospecting activities. These include:
- Organic post engagements (likes, comments) from prospects and accounts
- Ad impressions and clicks for accounts
- Connections and direct messages to prospects
You can trigger multiple GTM plays based on this data e.g. real-time alerts to Slack, triggering a workflow in Hubspot, or even initiating a connection request in LinkedIn!
Connecting your Linkedin Ads Accounts
You can sync LinkedIn ad engagement data via Syft's native LinkedIn integration.
- On the Integrations page, click on Linkedin Connect.
- You'll be presented with a screen asking you to grant permissions to Syft. Login if required.
- Once approved, you can customize which Ad manager Accounts to sync data from. Syft will sync campaign data from the past 30 days.
Syncing to CRM
Syft enables seamless syncing of LinkedIn Ad campaign metrics directly to your CRM. With this sync, you can score and prioritize accounts based on the latest campaign exposure data. Syft will write these metrics to the following fields on the Company record in your CRM on a daily basis.

Capture organic engagement via Chrome Extension
To capture engagement on your content and outreach activities, you will install the Chrome extension. We strongly recommend that all team members who actively use LinkedIn for posting content or engaging with prospects install this extension.
- On the Integrations page, install the Chrome extension.
-
- Once installed, you'll be taken to the Options screen. Configure the LinkedIn data that you want to sync.
Viewing and Activating LinkedIn signals
You can find accounts and contacts that show LinkedIn activity with the filters on the account list. They work very similarly to the filters that you use for site engagement signals. You can trigger Syft alerts based on LinkedIn signals as well. Choose "LinkedIn signals" when setting up Slack alert or CRM sync motions.
FAQ: Chrome extension
What permissions does the extension require?
The extension is limited to accessing Gmail and LinkedIn pages. It uses the browser's local storage to store settings and internal data.
What data does this extension collect from Gmail?
None. If "Link Tracking" is enabled, it merely changes the links in the email to add tracking information.
Does Syft have access to my LinkedIn login?
The extension uses your LinkedIn cookie stored locally in the browser to access LinkedIn on your behalf. This all happens on your device. Syft's servers do not have access to your LinkedIn credentials and do not make any requests to LinkedIn.
What data does this extension collect from LinkedIn?
It collects the following information based on the enabled options:
- LinkedIn profiles of prospects who like and reply Posts that you track
- LinkedIn profiles of connection to track status of Syft-triggered LinkedIn outreach and to improve lead suggestions
- Direct Messaging metadata (minus the actual message) and profile views to track prospecting activity
Can tracking features be disabled?
Yes, all tracking features can be individually controlled via the settings panel of the extension.
Does this extension comply with LinkedIn's Terms of Service?
LinkedIn's terms are broadly prohibitive against any automation despite a plethora of tools built on top of the platform. We think that collecting data related to your own content, activities, and connections falls within a gray area and constitutes legitimate use. However, we recommend consulting your company's legal and security policy for guidance.
Are there any limitations for profile tracking?
Yes, every extension user will contribute to profile tracking by default, but you can disable that option from the extension settings. Each user can track up to two profiles at the same time.
If you see this message: "Not enough users to track. Please install Syft extension on more users." or "Tracking begins automatically when more users get active Syft extension." it means there are not enough users to track that number of profiles, and the profile is not being tracked. To solve this, go to the extension settings and enable the "Contribute to profile tracking" option for more users. If there are not enough users available, install the extension for another user in your organization. If that is not possible, remove some profiles to comply with the maximum limit of profiles per user.
Why is profile tracking paused?
A user becomes inactive when they manually uninstall or disable the extension. We show a warning message in the Chrome extension settings when this happens. An inactive user is the main reason for tracking problems. Please make sure the extension is installed and active, or go to the extension settings and disable the "Contribute to profile tracking" option for that user.
